De zoveelste zwarte man die te maken kreeg met racistisch politiegeweld en één van de vele moorden die de Amerikaanse politie per jaar pleegt (in 2019: 1099).

Maar als we in de spiegel kijken, dan kunnen we in Nederland onze handen ook niet in onschuld wassen. Met regelmaat maakt de Nederlandse politie zich schuldig aan institutioneel racisme, etnisch profileren en racistisch geweld. Mitch Henriquez (in 2015 door politieagenten in Den Haag vermoord) ligt nog vers in het geheugen.
